ROOF DECK REPLACEMENT Project Description:
This home required a new fiberglass roof deck, replacement railings on the stairs to this second floor exterior deck, and railings around the deck.
Before All County Exteriors:
The initial contractor's lack of performance was profound. This included requiring substantial up front payments, starting the job three months late, performing the work poorly and with an unprofessional work crew. The initial contractor was terminated from the project after the owner engaged an attorney and went to the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs. The owner recovered some of their cost but unfortunately not all of it.
All County Exteriors Role:
- The first step was to determine which elements of the previous work could remain
- The next step in working the project involved undoing the mistakes and poor workmanship of the previous contractor
- Then a new fiberglass roof deck was added
- The crooked stair railings were removed
- New square and plumb railings were installed
- Deck railings were installed around the entire roof deck.
- All County Exteriors started on time, completed the work on schedule and at the agreed to price.
All Owners Must Always Consider:
- Was it a low ball bid?
- Was there proof of insurance?
- Where recommendations from previous clients provided?
- Is the contractor licensed in NJ? (Note: this is a state requirement)
- Did the contractor get the permits or claim that they were not required?
- Did the contractor start when they said - did they work at a very slow pace?
Your home is extremely important to you and All County Exteriors will treat you and your home accordingly.
We hope we are your contractor of choice, but if not please follow the above check list with whomever you choose. |
